In May, we decided to put together a small stunt to raise awareness about the significant funding cuts made to the Arts Council of England – since 2010, their funding has been reduced by 36%.
Since Bidvine has hundreds of music teachers, and even more people coming to us for lessons every day, we thought this was a great cause to get behind. (Not to mentioned that I am an aspiring trumpet player myself.)
With one of our top-rated music schools, Fireworks, we offered free lessons for a week at St. Pancras Station. The response to this small ‘stunt’ was phenomenal with the BBC, the Londonist, The Standard and many other news outlets covering the event.
I am ecstatic that we were able to raise so much awareness and get some Londoners to play more piano.
